About Pretty Good Woodworks

I began woodworking in 2012 and it quickly went from hobby to passion.  It started out with simple projects like bookcases, shelves, and molding then turned into more advanced things that were challenging but also a lot of fun.  I got to try out new techniques on things like puppet theaters, giant novelty thermometers, and an over-sized Plinko board, while also developing the basics on mission trips to build houses.  I was hooked.

What finally pushed me over the edge to make this a full-time effort was the birth of my daughter.  Before this, I worked in offices in a variety of companies but I never enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed spending time with her.  The first time I went back to work after paternity leave, I just kept asking myself, “why am I here?”  More than anything, I want her to grow up happy and to pursue what brings her joy.  Once I realized that I knew I had to set a better example for her. So I left the corporate world behind to pursue my happiness.

This is for Abby.
